India Services Sector Growth Eases in October Amidst Mixed Factors
Imagine a report card for India's service companies, like IT or delivery services.
In October, their score, called the PMI, was 58.9.
This score is good, showing they are still growing and busy, but it was a little lower than the month before.
More people visited stores and used services, and some tax help from the government made things easier.
However, it was tougher because there were more companies competing, and heavy rain made it hard to get things done.
Even though growth slowed a bit, the companies are still doing much better than average.
Their costs for supplies went up slower than they have in a long time, and they also raised their prices less than usual.
Companies also hired more people to help with their work, which helped them clear out unfinished tasks.
India's services sector growth eased in October, with the HSBC India Services PMI falling to 58.9 from 60.9 in September.
The expansion, though slower, remained strong and well above the 50-mark, indicating continued growth.
Factors supporting activity included resilient demand, higher client footfall, and GST relief.
Growth momentum was tempered by increased competition and heavy rains, impacting demand.
Input costs rose at the slowest pace in 14 months, while output charges increased at the slowest rate in seven months.
