Study: COVID-19 Vaccines Prevented Over 2.5 Million Deaths Globally
Scientists looked at how many people died from COVID-19 and if they had been vaccinated.
They found that vaccines helped save over 2.5 million lives worldwide between 2020 and 2024.
Most of the lives saved were of older people, especially those over 60.
Vaccines saved a life for every 5,400 doses given.
In addition to saving lives, vaccines also helped people live longer, saving a year of life for every 900 vaccine shots.
The study shows that vaccines are a safe way to protect older adults and prevent deaths during pandemics.

Researchers analyzed worldwide population data to estimate the impact of vaccinations.
90% of lives saved were among people aged 60 years or older.
