Jharkhand cancels three exams; students protest until demands met

Many students in a state of India called Jharkhand were upset about important exams for government jobs.

They thought the exams were not managed fairly.

They began protesting on July 25 and held a sit-in at a big stadium in Ranchi.

Some protesters even stopped eating in what is called a fast.

The government talked with them and agreed to cancel three exams.

It also agreed to let a special team, the Enforcement Directorate, look into money problems linked to one exam.

Three members of the exam commission quit their jobs.

But the students still wanted a big investigation team called the CBI to look into all the exams.

The government said no to that, so the students decided to keep protesting.

They even planned a peaceful march to the building where the state government works.
