Maharashtra Develops AI Tool to Identify Bangladeshi Nationals
The Maharashtra government is working with IIT Bombay to create a special AI tool.
This tool will listen to how people speak and try to figure out if they are from Bangladesh.
The idea is to help the police catch people who might be in India illegally.
The tool is still being tested and is not perfect yet, but the government hopes it will be ready in six months.
They also have a place to keep these people before sending them back to Bangladesh.
The chief minister said they want to make sure Mumbai is free from illegal immigrants.
Maharashtra government and IIT Bombay are developing an AI tool to identify suspected illegal Bangladeshi nationals and Rohingyas.
The tool analyzes speech patterns, tone, and usage for initial screening, with a current reliability of 60%.
The project, costing ₹3 crore, is expected to be foolproof in six months.
After AI identification, authorities will verify documents to confirm nationality.
A detention center has been established for identified individuals before deportation.
