Pakistan Warns Hajj Pilgrims Against Begging in Saudi Arabia

Pakistan Warns Hajj Pilgrims Against Begging in Saudi Arabia

Pakistan told its people who travel to Saudi Arabia for a special religious trip called Hajj or Umrah to follow the rules.

The Pakistani Embassy in Saudi Arabia sent a message to pilgrims and workers.

The message says they must not beg for money or collect money without permission.

They must also follow the rules of their travel visas.

If they break the rules, they could be arrested, kept in jail, or sent back home.

The embassy shared a video made by a computer that shows a man being arrested.

Saudi Arabia is very strict about begging near the holy cities of Mecca and Medina.

Hajj is a very important religious journey for Muslims.

Last year, more than one and a half million people came from outside Saudi Arabia for Hajj.
