Yes Bank Rallies on UPI MDR Outlook and Changes

Yes Bank Rallies on UPI MDR Outlook and Changes

Yes Bank’s share price went up because analysts saw a possible new way for banks to earn money from some UPI payments.

Citi said these payments could bring the banking industry ₹16,000–17,000 crore more each year.

It believes Yes Bank may benefit more than many other banks.

Another brokerage, Morgan Stanley, also viewed Yes Bank as a relative winner, but expected a smaller profit boost than before.

The bank also announced that its Chief Vigilance Officer, Binu Soman, had left to seek other opportunities.

Yes Bank recently reported higher profit and stronger core interest income for the June 2026 quarter.

However, the share price is still considered to be in a sideways trend over longer periods.

Analysts said a sustained move above ₹26 could lead to further gains, while ₹24–26 remains an important resistance area.
