Decathlon India Expands Small-Format Connect Stores
Decathlon India is planning to open 10 more small 'Connect' stores in the next three years.
These stores are much smaller, around 250–500 sq.
ft., and are designed to be in busy areas.
The company already has 12 of these stores.
They also have bigger flagship stores where people can try out sports equipment and join events.
Right now, they have 133 stores and want to have 190 by 2027.
They are also focusing on making more products in India to reduce risks from global supply chains.
This way, they can offer more convenience and a better shopping experience to their customers.
Decathlon India plans to add 10 'Connect' stores in the next three years, expanding its current 12 stores.
Connect stores are compact (250–500 sq. ft.) and designed for high-footfall locations.
Omnichannel sales account for 12% of total revenues, with flagship stores contributing 13–15%.
The company aims to expand to 190 stores across 90 cities by 2027, up from the current 133.
Decathlon is strengthening its manufacturing ecosystem in India, aiming to increase Made-in-India contribution to 80% by 2030.
