Canara Bank's Q1 Net Profit Climbs 22% Amid Improved Asset Quality
Canara Bank, a big bank, made more money in the first three months of the year.
Their profit went up a lot, by about 22%.
They also gave out more loans to people and businesses, which helped them earn more money.
However, they made a little less money from the difference between the interest they earned and paid.
The bank's bad loans also decreased, which is good news.
This means more people are paying back the money they borrowed.
Overall, the bank did well, and its stock price went up a bit.
Canara Bank's net profit rose 21.7% YoY to Rs 4,752 crore in Q1 FY26.
The bank's other income increased to Rs 7,060 crore.
Global advances grew by 12.4% YoY to Rs 10.96 lakh crore.
Net interest income (NII) declined slightly, down 1.7% YoY.
Asset quality improved, with Gross NPA at 2.69% and Net NPA at 0.63%.
