Maharashtra Transfers Palghar Land to MSRDC for Virar‑Alibaug Corridor
The Maharashtra government gave a piece of land in Palghar to a road‑building company called MSRDC.
This land is part of a big plan to build a new road that will connect Mumbai to the Konkan coast.
The land is very small, only about 0.28 hectares.
It is being given at a tiny price, just one rupee per square metre.
The land can only be used for the new road.
If the road stops using it, the land must go back to the government.
The government says this will help traffic, make it easier to travel, and help factories and businesses grow.
Maharashtra government transferred ~0.28.70 hectares of land in Palghar’s Vasai taluka to MSRDC.
The transfer is to speed up the Virar‑Alibaug Multi‑Modal Corridor, an urgent public project linking Mumbai to the Konkan region.
Land is given under Occupancy Class‑II tenure at Rs 1 per square metre, with use restricted to the corridor project.
If the corridor use stops, the land must be returned to the state without compensation.
Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule said the move will boost connectivity, reduce traffic congestion, and spur industrial development.
