PM Modi Urges Citizens To Join Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign

The Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, has asked everyone in the country to join a special campaign called 'Har Ghar Tiranga', which means 'Tricolour at every home'.

The Indian national flag is called the Tiranga because of its three colours.

India celebrates Independence Day every year on August 15, and this year will be the 80th celebration.

The campaign asks families to put up or fly the Indian flag at their homes to show love for their country.

It runs from August 9 to August 17, 2026.

People can also join online by taking a photo with the flag and getting a special digital certificate.

Modi shared a video on Instagram asking everyone to celebrate with pride and remember the freedom fighters who won India's freedom.

He also asked people to promise to help build a 'Viksit Bharat', which means a developed India.

This year's campaign is extra special because it honours the national song 'Vande Mataram', which is turning 150 years old.

The idea is to make the flag feel personal, not just something used at official buildings.
