He plays for a team called Inter Miami.

Sadly, Messi's dad passed away, so Messi took a break to be with his family in Argentina.

When he came back to play, it was a special and emotional moment.

During the game, a player on the other team named Jhohan Romana stopped Messi and gave him a big hug.

Romana even lifted Messi off the ground!

Messi was surprised at first, but then he smiled.
