Pooja Meri Jaan Review Examines Accusations, Obsession And Gender Bias
Pooja Meri Jaan is about a woman named Pooja and a man named Aniket.
Aniket loves Pooja very strongly, but she does not agree to marry him.
After Aniket dies by suicide, his family blames Pooja.
They accuse her of helping cause his death and take legal action.
Pooja’s lawyer Sana tries to defend her in court.
Another lawyer, Jatin, argues that Pooja treated Aniket badly.
The review says the movie tries to show both sides but does not explore them deeply enough.
It also says the film leaves viewers unsure whether Pooja was unfairly blamed or partly responsible for the painful situation.
Pooja faces public outrage, slander and a criminal case after Aniket dies by suicide when she refuses to marry him.
The film follows Pooja’s defence against an accusation of abetment of suicide.
Lawyer Sana represents Pooja, while the opposing lawyer Jatin uses forceful courtroom rhetoric despite Sana’s limited courtroom experience.
The review says the film presents a complicated relationship between a conflicted woman and an obsessive man in a shallow, twist-driven way.
Mrunal Thakur is praised for her performance, but the film is criticized for leaving lingering suspicion about Pooja’s intentions.
