Paris Unveils First Urban Cable Car
Paris has opened its first urban cable car in the southeastern suburbs.
This cable car, called the C1 line, connects four cities and helps people travel faster than by bus or car.
It can carry many passengers every day and is safer and cheaper than building a subway.
People are excited because it will help them get to work and other places more easily.
The cable car has special features to keep passengers safe, like cameras and emergency buttons.
This is the seventh urban cable car in France, and it's a big step forward for transportation in the area.
Paris inaugurated its first urban cable car, the C1 line, in the southeastern suburbs on December 13.
The 4.5-kilometer route connects Creteil to Villeneuve-Saint-Georges, passing through Limeil-Brevannes and Valenton.
The cable car can carry 11,000 passengers per day in 105 gondolas, each accommodating ten passengers.
The journey takes 18 minutes, significantly faster than the 40 minutes by bus or car.
The 138-million-euro project was cheaper to build than a subway and aims to reduce urban divides and road congestion.
