OpenAI Cuts Frontier GPT-5.6 Sol Developer Prices Over 20%
OpenAI is making one of its advanced AI models cheaper for developers to use.
The model is called GPT-5.6 Sol.
For the next three months, developers will pay less when sending information to the model and receiving answers from it.
The new prices are $4 for one million input tokens and $20 for one million output tokens.
The discount applies to OpenAI’s API and some credits used with ChatGPT Work and Codex.
People with Pro, Plus, or Business subscriptions will not see their subscription prices change.
OpenAI recently lowered prices for two other models as well.
The company is cutting prices while facing competition from Anthropic and Chinese AI models.
OpenAI is reducing GPT-5.6 Sol API prices by more than 20% for three months.
The new standard short-context rates are $4 per million input tokens and $20 per million output tokens.
The discounts apply to eligible API plans, ChatGPT Work credits, and Codex.
Pro, Plus, and Business subscription prices will remain unchanged.
