Russia Demands US Answers on Alleged Role in Ukraine Strikes
Russia's foreign minister, a man named Sergei Lavrov, talked on television about Russia's war with Ukraine.
He said Russia believes the United States is secretly helping Ukraine attack Russia.
Russia sent a list of questions to the US State Department asking about that help.
Russia wants to know if the US is giving Ukraine information and helping plan the attacks.
The United States did not answer right away.
Lavrov remembered a meeting between the Russian president, Vladimir Putin, and the American president, Donald Trump, one year ago.
He said Russia was ready to accept the US peace ideas from that meeting.
But America's secretary of state, Marco Rubio, said no agreement was ever made.
Russia also said it will work even harder to stop weapons from other countries reaching Ukraine.
The war between Russia and Ukraine has already lasted five years.
Russia has submitted questions to the US State Department alleging deep US involvement, including intelligence supply, in Ukrainian strikes deep inside Russian territory.
Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Moscow awaits a US response; no immediate comment was available from the US side.
Lavrov quoted Putin as telling President Donald Trump at a summit one year ago that Moscow accepted US peace proposals.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio denied that any agreement was reached at the summit, saying the war would be over if one had been.
Lavrov said Moscow would toughen its methods to destroy Western military supplies to Ukraine and that Putin was willing to receive Trump's envoys again.
