Nearly 20 cats were found dead and badly injured in an area of Mumbai.
The area is called Panjrapole in Chembur.
An animal caregiver named Rubeena Pathan found many of the cats.
More dead cats and a distressed kitten were found on September 4 and 5.
PETA India helped her report the case to the police.
