Kerala SHO Suspended After Assaulting Pregnant Woman

A police officer in Kerala, India, was suspended after a video showed him slapping a pregnant woman at a police station.

The woman, Shymol, was at the station because her husband was being held there.

The officer, Prathap Chandran, is seen pushing and slapping Shymol.

Another woman officer also slapped her.

Shymol and her husband say they will keep fighting in court to get the officer fired.

The officer says Shymol was causing trouble and he acted to control the situation.

Other people have also come forward saying the officer hurt them.

The officer was suspended after the video was seen by higher police officials.
