NIA Questions Four Over Attack on Voter-List Officials
The NIA is investigating an incident involving officials who were revising voter lists.
The officials were reportedly held hostage and attacked in the Mothabari police station area on April 1.
Four people from Kaliachak were questioned in connection with the case.
One was Mohammad Mehbub Alam, who is married to MLA Sabina Yeasmin.
Alam said he was not near the incident and was in Malda town that day.
The other three included a local political representative, a booth-level officer and a former party leader.
They were questioned separately.
Investigators reportedly wanted to compare their answers for differences.
The National Investigation Agency questioned four people from Kaliachak, Malda, over an April 1 attack on voter-list revision officials.

Alam said he received an NIA notice on August 12 and was questioned on August 14.
A Trinamool-run Malda zilla parishad member, a booth-level officer and a former block Trinamool leader were also questioned.
Sources said the four were questioned separately to compare their accounts and identify possible inconsistencies.
