Maharashtra Bans 'International' in School Names
The Maharashtra school education department has said that schools in the state can't use words like 'International' or 'Global' in their names unless they have schools in other countries or teach an international curriculum.
This is to stop schools from confusing parents by using these big-sounding words when they don't really mean anything special.
The department has noticed that some schools, even those following the state's own curriculum, are using these words in their names, which isn't fair.
They've also listed 11 schools that have applied for new or renewed approval in December 2025, including three from Thane district.
