Pune Congress Opposes DJs, Calls for Traditional Ganeshotsav Music

The Congress wants Pune’s Ganeshotsav celebrations to use traditional musical instruments.

It says DJs can be dangerously loud.

The party believes loudspeakers may still be used.

Prashant Jagtap said very loud music could hurt people’s ears and cause other health problems.

He also said DJs are changing the traditional character of the festival.

Pune’s processions have traditionally used musical instruments.

The festival lasts 10 days, so many people could be exposed to loud noise.

Congress has asked officials to allow celebrations only when traditional instruments are used.
