SEBI Moves Quickly Against Alleged Closing Auction System Manipulation

India’s market regulator is investigating trades that may have misused a new stock-market closing system.

The system is called the Closing Auction System.

The regulator, SEBI, took action against two companies.

Those companies are Copthall Mauritius Investment Ltd.

and Mansi Share and Stock Broking Ltd.

SEBI stopped them from accessing the capital markets for now.

The trades in question happened on August 13.

The action came only six days later.

This quick response warns traders that suspected manipulation may be examined rapidly.
