Charles Schwab Expands Hyderabad Centre to 2,000 Employees
Charles Schwab is a financial services company from the United States.
It has opened a new technology centre called Schwab India in Hyderabad.
The centre will help Charles Schwab’s US businesses with technology, engineering and operations.
The company wants about 2,000 people to work there by the end of 2027.
Some work currently done by contractors in India will be handled by Schwab’s own employees.
Hyderabad is already a major location for financial technology and global capability centres.
Telangana officials said the city has capabilities across many parts of financial markets.
The expansion shows that Charles Schwab is increasing its technology and operations work in India.
Charles Schwab opened a 3.45 lakh square foot technology capability centre in Hyderabad on Wednesday.
The company plans to increase the centre’s workforce to about 2,000 employees by the end of 2027.
Schwab India will provide technology development, engineering and operational support for Charles Schwab’s US businesses.
Some technology capabilities currently supported by contractors in India will be brought into Schwab’s Hyderabad operations.
India has more than 2,100 global capability centres, while Telangana hosts more than 475, according to the reports.
