Bhopal Municipal Corporation Adopts E-Filing System
The Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) has started using a new digital system for handling official files.
This means no new files will be processed on paper.
The system was launched on 27 January with the General Administration Department.
The state government had asked all offices to use this system by 2025.
The BMC is also moving to a new building where this digital system will be fully used.
The National Informatics Centre (NIC) is helping manage the data and train the staff.
There are some challenges, like staff members having the same names, but the BMC is working to fix these issues.
Official email IDs are also being created as part of this new system.
Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) has become the first municipal corporation in Madhya Pradesh to adopt a fully digital e-filing system.
The trial run of the system began on 27 January with the General Administration Department (GAD).
The state government had mandated the implementation of the e-office system from 1 January 2025.
The National Informatics Centre (NIC) is managing the e-filing data and providing daily training to municipal officials.
BMC is preparing to integrate the e-filing system into daily operations at its new headquarters on Link Road Number Two.
