Tarigami Challenges Normalcy Claims, Demands Jammu and Kashmir Rights

Mohd Yousuf Tarigami, a CPI(M) leader, said people in Jammu and Kashmir should have their political and constitutional rights restored.

He questioned the government’s claim that the region is peaceful and normal.

He pointed to new threats against Kashmiri Pandits as a reason for asking questions about security.

He also said the local legislature does not have enough power.

Tarigami criticised the BJP’s protests and asked whom the party was blaming for problems in the region.

He said young people had to protest before the government listened to their concerns.

He also objected to the sale of public assets such as airports, ports and power plants.

He urged people in Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh to maintain their bonds despite political divisions.
