FDA Suspends Licenses of Five Mumbai Clubs
The FDA in Maharashtra has suspended the food licences of five famous clubs in Mumbai because they were not following food safety rules.
The clubs include the Cricket Club of India, MIG Cricket Club, and three others.
The FDA found many problems like cockroaches, mouldy food, and dirty kitchens.
The clubs have been told to fix these issues.
The FDA will keep checking other places to make sure they follow the rules.
FDA suspended food licences of five elite Mumbai clubs for serious hygiene and food safety violations.
Inspections revealed cockroach and fly infestation, mouldy and expired food, poor segregation of vegetarian and non-vegetarian food, blocked drains, grease accumulation, unhygienic kitchen conditions, improper food storage, lack of temperature monitoring, inadequate food labelling, non-compliance with FIFO/FEFO inventory practices, and poor personal hygiene among food handlers.
The Cricket Club of India (CCI) temporarily suspended its kitchen and bakery operations.
MIG Cricket Club was found to have an unauthorised catering agency operating without a valid FSSAI licence.
FDA plans to continue special inspection drives across Maharashtra to ensure compliance with food safety norms.
