Mukka Proteins to Revolutionize Bengaluru's Waste Management
Mukka Proteins Limited, a company that makes animal protein, is now allowed to manage Bengaluru's trash.
They will collect and process a lot of wet waste every day, aiming to expand their capacity.
They plan to use special insects to turn trash into useful products like protein for animal food and compost for plants.
This is similar to what they already do in Mangaluru, a project praised by India's Prime Minister.
The company also wants to make and sell ingredients from insects, manage different kinds of waste, and produce things for farming like compost.
Mukka Proteins Limited has been authorized to process waste by Bengaluru Solid Waste Management Limited (BSWML).
The company will manage 200-300 metric tonnes per day of wet waste, with plans to expand to 1,000 tonnes.
The initiative uses Black Soldier Fly (BSF) technology to convert waste into insect protein and organic compost.
The company's subsidiary, Ento Proteins Private Limited, operates a similar BSF facility in Mangaluru.
Mukka Proteins Limited proposes amendments to its MOA to include insect-based product development and waste management solutions.
