Delhi to increase financial aid for Kanwar camps
The Delhi government is planning to give more money to groups that set up Kanwar camps.
These camps help people who go on a religious journey called the Kanwar Yatra.
The government wants to make the camps better and easier to manage.
They will give more money to bigger camps and also to smaller ones.
This is because more people are going on the journey every year, and the camps need more help.
The government will also keep giving free electricity to the camps, up to a certain limit.
Delhi government proposes increased financial assistance for Kanwar Samitis.
Large Kanwar camps (over 20,000 sq ft) to receive up to Rs 15 lakh.
Number of Kanwar camps increased from 170 in 2024 to 308 in 2025.
Free electricity of up to 1,200 units to continue for Kanwar Samitis.
