DCC Recommends Biometric Authentication for Blood Donors

DCC Recommends Biometric Authentication for Blood Donors

The Drugs Consultative Committee (DCC) in Mumbai has recommended using biometric authentication for blood donors to ensure safety and prevent duplicate registrations.

They also suggested making registration on the e-RaktKosh portal mandatory for all licensed blood centers.

This system aims to create a unique identity for each donor, improve traceability of donated blood, and strengthen the national donor database.

The committee will study the feasibility and privacy aspects before finalizing the plan.
