SFI Alleges Women Activists Detained After Sunset at Delhi Rally
The Students’ Federation of India, or SFI, held a flag rally in Delhi.
SFI says police detained 22 women who joined it after sunset.
The group alleges that some women were pushed around and slapped by male police officers.
It also says the bus carrying them was dark and had no woman police officer inside.
SFI says the rally was a protest about police actions and attacks on women protesters and journalists the day before.
The group argues that rules meant to protect women were not followed.
The claims have not been independently confirmed.
Delhi Police had not responded at the time of the report.
