Indian Startup GalaxEye Wins US Patent, Plans Satellite Expansion

GalaxEye is an Indian company that builds satellites and space technology.

It received a patent in the United States for a system called OptoSAR.

OptoSAR uses two kinds of cameras together: optical cameras and radar sensors.

Optical cameras can show detailed colors and features, while radar can work at night and through many weather conditions.

GalaxEye’s system is designed to collect matching pictures at the same time.

The company plans to build 30 satellites over the next five years.

These satellites could help with farming, infrastructure, insurance, maritime work and disaster response.

Its technology is connected to a satellite mission called Drishti, and the company also bought StarOps to improve its spacecraft engineering.
