Pargat Singh's Dissent May Strengthen His Punjab Congress Leadership

Pargat Singh used to be a famous hockey player and later became a politician.

He has often spoken up when he disagreed with leaders in his own party.

He criticized leaders of the Akali Dal before leaving it and joining Congress.

Later, he also questioned the Congress government.

Now he speaks against the Aam Aadmi Party government in Punjab.

He has raised issues such as corruption, drugs and cases involving sacrilege.

The article says his willingness to challenge leaders may have helped him become Punjab Congress president.

It may also help the party prepare for the 2027 election.

But he will need to help lead and organize the party, not just criticize its opponents.
