Indonesian Baby Trafficking Ring Busted: Infants Sold for Profit
In Indonesia, police stopped a group of people who were illegally selling babies.
This group, operating since early 2023, would find pregnant women, or parents in financial need, and offer to buy their babies.
They would then create fake documents, like birth certificates, and sell the babies, some even before they were born, often to people in Singapore.
The babies were sold for a lot of money.
When one parent didn't get paid, they reported it, and the police arrested 13 people and rescued six babies, but are still looking for more of the missing 24 babies.
This shows some big problems, like poverty, in Indonesia.
