U.S. Envoy Visits Gaza Aid Site Amid Safety Concerns and Criticism
A U.S. official, Steve Witkoff, went to Gaza to check on an aid operation supported by the U.S. and Israel.
However, the UN says this aid operation is not safe and won't work with them.
People have died trying to get aid.
The aid group claims it is keeping aid safer than the UN, while the UN is saying it puts people in danger.
U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff visited a Gaza aid site backed by the U.S. and approved by Israel.
The UN says the aid operation, run by the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), is unsafe and has not partnered with it.
Palestinian medics reported Israeli forces shot and killed three Palestinians near a GHF aid point after the visit.
Over 1,000 people have reportedly died trying to receive aid at GHF sites, many shot by Israeli forces.
GHF states it is protecting aid better than the UN and has delivered 100 million meals.
