Worldline Gains RBI Approval for Cross-Border Payment Aggregation
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI), India's central bank, has given Worldline ePayments India permission to handle international payments for businesses that import and export goods.
This means Worldline can help Indian companies get paid when they sell to other countries and pay for goods from other countries.
This will help make it easier for businesses to handle payments.
Worldline has been operating in India for over two decades, providing payment solutions to various businesses.
They now must follow RBI rules for cross-border transactions.
Worldline ePayments India received RBI authorization to operate as a Payment Aggregator for Cross-Border Export-Import.
The approval, under the Payment and Settlement Systems Act, 2007, allows Worldline to process cross-border online payments.
Worldline can now support Indian exporters and importers by streamlining international payment flows.
This new license allows Worldline to act as a digital intermediary for global transactions.
Worldline already holds licenses to operate as a domestic Payment Aggregator and a Bharat Bill Payment Operating Unit.
