Assam CM raises security concerns over militant presence in Bangladesh
Assam's Chief Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma, has warned about a serious security issue.
He said that leaders of banned militant groups, like ULFA, have been seen in Bangladesh.
This is worrying because these groups could cause trouble in Assam and other parts of Northeast India.
In the past, Bangladesh's government helped control these groups, but now there are concerns that a change in Bangladesh's politics could lead to more problems.
The Assam government is asking the central government to take steps to protect people in Bangladesh and keep the border safe.
Meanwhile, Sarma also talked about some internal issues in the Congress party, saying he was affected by a fight between Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra.
Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma reported that top commanders of ULFA and other militant groups have been spotted in Bangladesh.
He credited former Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina for past cooperation in curbing militancy in Assam.
Sarma warned that a regime change in Bangladesh could lead to militants setting up bases there, posing a serious security threat.
Assam has been placed on high alert, with increased security vigilance in border areas.
Sarma also alleged internal conflicts within the Congress party, claiming he was a victim of a fight between Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi.
