Power Lines Delay Air Ambulance Landing in Madhya Pradesh
A young woman named Kirti Chandel, who has a serious spine problem, needed to be taken to a big hospital in Bhopal by a special flying ambulance.
But when the ambulance helicopter arrived, the pilot saw dangerous power lines near the landing spot.
The pilot had to hover in the air for a long time because of these lines.
Even though it was risky, the pilot landed safely and took Kirti to the hospital.
After this, the people in charge quickly removed the power lines.
This was the first time such a flying ambulance service was used in Dindori.
Kirti's family had been trying to get her treatment for months, and they even asked for help on TV.
The people who built the landing spot said it wasn't their job to check for safety, but the local government is in charge of making sure it's safe.
An air ambulance was delayed for 15 minutes due to live power lines near the helipad in Dindori, Madhya Pradesh.
Pilot Sanjay Sharma questioned the safety of the helipad and considered aborting the landing.
Kirti Chandel, a 21-year-old with a spinal tumor, was successfully airlifted to AIIMS Bhopal.
The incident exposed coordination gaps, as the helicopter's arrival was rescheduled multiple times.
The Public Works Department (PWD) declined responsibility for helipad safety, stating no safety clearance was requested.
