Apple Centers iPhone 18 Launch on Smarter, Expressive Siri
Apple is giving Siri a major upgrade for the iPhone 18.
Siri will be able to understand more about what users are doing across their apps.
It can look at information in messages, emails and on the screen to help complete tasks.
Siri can also perform actions in many third-party apps.
People can use it with their voice, typing or the camera.
A new Siri app will let users revisit earlier conversations.
On the iPhone 18 Pro, Siri will sound more natural and expressive.
Apple says the upgraded assistant will also improve dictation and support more languages.
Apple is making a more capable Siri central to its iPhone 18 AI strategy.
Siri can use personal context across emails, messages, apps and information shown on the iPhone screen.
The assistant supports actions in more than 300,000 apps, including WhatsApp, Audible, Outlook and Notability.
Users can interact with Siri through voice, typing and the camera, while a dedicated app stores synchronized conversations.
The iPhone 18 Pro uses an advanced on-device model for more expressive voices, improved dictation and expanded language support.
