India Establishes Centers of Excellence for Critical Minerals
India is setting up special research centers called Centers of Excellence (CoEs) to find and develop important minerals.
These minerals are needed for things like clean energy and new technology.
The government chose seven top research places, like IITs, to lead this effort.
They will work with companies and other research groups to create new ways to find and use these minerals so India can depend less on getting them from other countries.
Ministry of Mines designated seven institutions as Centers of Excellence (CoEs).
The CoEs aim to accelerate research and technology development in critical minerals.
CoEs will focus on transformational R&D, reaching high technology readiness levels.
Each CoE will operate under a hub-and-spoke model.
This initiative supports India's goal of self-reliance in critical minerals.
