IIM Bangalore’s Undergraduate Debut Draws 12,000 Applicants for 80 Seats

IIM Bangalore is starting undergraduate courses for the first time.

Many students applied, but only 80 will be admitted in the first group.

There will be two programmes, one focused mainly on data science and the other on economics.

Students will also study the other subject as a minor.

The courses will last four years and will be residential, meaning students can live on campus.

The new campus is being built near Jigani-Anekal, outside IIM Bangalore’s main campus area.

Tata Trusts is helping pay for buildings, research and other parts of the school.

Classes for the first students are scheduled to start on August 31.
