Sudan Tops Humanitarian Crises Watchlist for Third Year
Sudan is in a very bad situation because of a war that started in April 2023.
This war has made many people leave their homes, and there are not enough helpers to take care of them.
The International Rescue Committee (IRC) says Sudan is the worst place for this kind of problem right now.
They have a list of countries that need help, and Sudan is at the top for the third year in a row.
More than 12 million people have had to leave their homes because of the war.
The IRC says that these countries with big problems have a lot of very poor people, and by 2029, they think more than half of the world's very poor people will be in these countries.
Other countries on the list include places like the Palestinian territories, South Sudan, Ethiopia, and Haiti.
The IRC says the world is not doing enough to help these people.
Sudan has topped the International Rescue Committee's (IRC) watchlist of global humanitarian crises for the third consecutive year.
The conflict in Sudan, which began in April 2023, has displaced more than 12 million people.
The IRC reports that the countries on the watchlist, which account for 12% of the global population, are home to 89% of those in humanitarian need.
These countries are projected to host more than half of the world's extreme poor by 2029.
Other countries on the list include the Palestinian territories, South Sudan, Ethiopia, Haiti, Myanmar, Democratic Republic of Congo, and others.
