India Hosts BIMSTEC Cancer Care Training
India is hosting a special training program for doctors and nurses from nearby countries to help them get better at treating cancer.
This program is happening in Visakhapatnam and will last for four weeks.
The Indian government started this program to share their knowledge and skills in cancer care.
Thirty-five experts from different countries are learning about different types of cancer treatments and how to use new technologies.
This is part of India's effort to work closely with its neighboring countries and improve healthcare in the region.
India inaugurated the second phase of a specialised cancer care training program for BIMSTEC countries.
The program is held at Tata Memorial Centre’s Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital and Research Centre in Visakhapatnam.
The four-week program focuses on critical domains like Onco-Pathology, Onco-Nursing, Palliative Medicine, Preventive Oncology, and Radiation Oncology.
Thirty-five cancer care experts from BIMSTEC countries are participating in the program.
