JJ Hospital: Three Child Deaths in 24 Hours Amidst Turmoil
In Mumbai, three children sadly passed away in a hospital's intensive care unit within a day.
One child had dengue, which was the first death from the disease this monsoon season.
The other two children had serious health issues, too.
These deaths happened while doctors were already having problems with their department head, which might make it harder to care for patients.
The hospital's dean has said that the children were very sick when they came to the hospital and were being helped with breathing machines.
Three children died within 24 hours in JJ Hospital's PICU.
A seven-year-old boy's death was linked to dengue, the first such fatality of the monsoon.
Other causes of death were septic shock, cardio-respiratory arrest, and tuberculosis.
The deaths occurred during a protest by resident doctors against the department head.
The Dean confirmed the deaths and stated all were critical patients referred from other hospitals.
