Notorious Tigress Escapes Enclosure, Sparks Panic
A tigress named Kankati, known for attacking humans in the past, escaped from her big enclosure in the Mukundra Hills Tiger Reserve.
This made people scared and stopped traffic.
The tigress walked across a road, and people saw her and took videos.
Later, she went back to her enclosure safely.
Officials say they are always watching her, but some people think the forest department should have better fences to keep the tigress safe and prevent such escapes.
The tigress was moved to this place earlier this year after she hurt people in another forest.
Tigress MT-8 (Kankati) escaped her 82-sq km enclosure in Mukundra Hills Tiger Reserve (MHTR) on Tuesday morning.
The escape caused panic and halted traffic as the tigress crossed a road and was seen by commuters and police.
Kankati is radio-collared and tracked by forest teams, and she returned to her enclosure later in the day.
The tigress was relocated to MHTR on June 19 after two human attacks in Ranthambore and reintroduced to the wild on August 15.
Wildlife enthusiast Brijesh Vijayvergiya criticized the forest department for inadequate safety measures and lack of fencing to prevent such incidents.
