Karnataka CM Shivakumar defends Nagendra, accuses BJP of constitutional crisis

Karnataka is a state in India, and its leader is called the Chief Minister.

His name is D.K. Shivakumar.

Some people said one of his ministers, B. Nagendra, has legal problems and should not be a minister.

Mr. Shivakumar said many leaders in India have had cases or needed bail, so he does not think this is a big problem.

Another leader named Basavaraj Horatti quit his job as the head of a state council.

Mr. Shivakumar says Horatti quit on his own and gave them his resignation letter.

But later, Horatti complained to the Governor, who is a top official of the state.

Mr. Shivakumar says the opposition party, called the BJP, is causing trouble and trying to misuse the Governor's office to create a crisis.

He also said the one empty minister job will be given to a woman.

The Congress party's senior leaders will decide what happens next.
