Shivaji Park Residents Oppose CJP October 2 Protest Plans

The Cockroach Janta Party wanted to hold a protest at Mumbai’s Shivaji Park on October 2.

The protest was planned against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.

People living nearby said they do not want a large gathering there.

They said children use the ground and that schools and hospitals are close by.

They also worried that crowds could block roads and emergency vehicles.

One resident said an ambulance had previously struggled to pass through crowded streets.

Residents suggested using Azad Maidan, a designated protest venue, instead.

Mumbai Police had already refused permission for the event.

Some residents said they might contact the police or courts if the gathering went ahead.
