HC Orders Priority Appointment of Doctors in Melghat
The Bombay High Court is very worried about the deaths of four babies and two mothers in the Melghat area.
They told the government to quickly hire special doctors like gynaecologists and paediatricians.
The court said that not having enough doctors and other problems in the area are causing these deaths.
The government said they need to make it easier to get doctors to work there and maybe pay them more.
The court wants everyone, including the central government, to take this seriously and will check on progress in January.
Bombay High Court directed the state government to prioritize the appointment of specialist doctors in Melghat.
Four infants and two lactating women died due to malnutrition in the Melghat region within a month.
The court expressed concern over the lack of specialist doctors and medical facilities in the tribal area.
The government suggested relaxing norms and increasing salaries to attract specialist doctors to the region.
