Pakistan Army Chief to Visit Tehran Amid Stalled US-Iran Talks

Pakistan’s army chief, Asim Munir, plans to visit Iran on Monday.

Pakistan is trying to help Iran and the United States talk about their conflict.

Iran says the visit is meant to support peace and security in the region.

Munir has already spoken with Iran’s foreign minister about the situation.

Egypt is also talking with Iran about bringing Iran and the United States back to negotiations.

The countries had a 60-day plan to end the war and discuss Iran’s nuclear program.

That deadline has passed, and the sides still disagree about the Strait of Hormuz.

The strait is important because many ships carrying oil travel through it.

An Iranian security official warned that Iran would respond strongly to more pressure.
