Jharkhand BJP Protests Cases Against Students, Seeks Exam Probe
The Jharkhand BJP is holding protests across the state for four days.
The protests began on September 8 and will continue through September 11.
Party workers are demonstrating at district offices and picketing offices of senior local officials.
They want police cases against students and job aspirants to be withdrawn.
The cases followed clashes during protests on August 23.
The BJP also wants the Central Bureau of Investigation to examine alleged problems in recruitment exams.
Students had protested for 26 days over these concerns.
The government had announced that some exams would be cancelled, but the Jharkhand High Court paused that decision.
Successful candidates had challenged the cancellations because they feared losing their jobs.
The Jharkhand BJP began a four-day agitation across 24 districts on September 8.
Demonstrations in six districts demanded withdrawal of cases filed against job aspirants and students.
The party is seeking a CBI probe into alleged irregularities in recruitment examinations conducted by JPSC and JSSC.
At least six FIRs name more than 50 people, while over 1,100 others were unnamed after August 23 clashes.
The BJP and a student forum also urged withdrawal of cases linked to a 26-day recruitment-exam protest.
