Parliament Panel Flags Poor Complaint Resolution on e-daakhil
Imagine a place online where you can complain about problems with things you buy.
India has one called e-daakhil.
But, it's not working very well.
Only about a quarter of the complaints get fixed.
A group of people in charge (the parliamentary panel) is worried because they think the government isn't doing enough to improve things.
They want to make sure complaints get resolved faster.
They're also upset that some technology upgrades, like video call systems, haven't been set up on time.
This means that consumer issues are taking too long to be resolved.
Parliamentary panel reports low resolution rate for India's e-daakhil digital consumer complaint platform.
Only 23% of consumer complaints filed on e-daakhil have been resolved since the platform launched in 2020.
The panel criticized the Ministry of Consumer Affairs for not implementing previous recommendations.
Delays were reported in implementing CONFONET infrastructure, including video-conferencing systems.
The panel raised concerns about unspent funds and the absence of a dedicated monitoring cell.
