BJD Urges Govt to Intervene in Airline Booking Halt on Bhubaneswar-Dubai Route
The BJD, an opposition party in Odisha, has asked the state government to help with a problem.
A private airline might stop flights from Bhubaneswar to Dubai.
This could affect many Odia people living in the UAE.
The Odisha Samaj UAE, a group of Odia people in the UAE, said the airline stopped taking bookings from March 30.
The BJD says this will make it harder for people to travel and do business.
They want the government to make sure the flights continue.
BJD urges Odisha government to intervene in the alleged halt of bookings by a private airline on the Bhubaneswar-Dubai route.
Odisha Samaj UAE claims the airline stopped bookings from March 30, affecting 40,000 Odia people in the UAE.
BJD spokesperson Lenin Mohanty states the discontinuation could impact mobility, connectivity, and trade.
The direct flight to Dubai was inaugurated on May 15, 2023, from Biju Patnaik International Airport.
BJD accuses the BJP government of inefficiency in handling the situation.
